Ithaca

As you set out for Ithaka
hope the voyage is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
Laistrygonians and Cyclops,
angry Poseidon—don’t be afraid of them:
you’ll never find things like that on your way
as long as you keep your thoughts raised high,
as long as a rare excitement
stirs your spirit and your body.
Laistrygonians and Cyclops,
wild Poseidon—you won’t encounter them
unless you bring them along inside your soul,
unless your soul sets them up in front of you.

(Poem By K.Kavafis - Ithaca)

Enjoy your stay in Ithaca

Not much has been left unsaid when it comes to Ithaca... Considered an ideal destination, regarded as the ultimate homeland, the incomparable beauty of this island has been ceremoniously sung by the great epic poet Homer in his ‘’Odyssey’’, where Ulysses suffered a great deal of misfortunes for his birthplace’s sake.

Lord Byron fell in love with Ithaca in the 19th century, while contemporary literary figures such as Kavafy and Christianopoulos have celebrated the island in their poems, using Ithaca as a symbol of lofty qualities and goals.
